natural highs | daily not daily
Naval Ravikant made a popular tweet where he listed some highs that don't lead to subsequent lows.
After going for a run this went through my head.
But after giving it some thought i am not sure that exercise does fit into this category of activities.
After most types of exercise you get a release of what I believe is called seratonin, a chemical which in effect makes you feel good.
This is the high.
But exercise in a lot of forms leads to lows afterwards, I think of delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and the need to recover in order to not feel sore the next day.
So that left me wondering, what does fit into this category.
NAVAL SAYS:
Highs that don’t lead to subsequent lows:
• Meditation, gratitude, prayer, journaling, unconditional love.
• Yoga, exercise, play, nature walks.
• Creating art, reading for fun, singing, poetry.
• Practicing a craft, pursuing curiosity, work done for its own sake, flow.
on the whole i think i would have to agree with him
It is pretty cool to see all of these things in one list, to keep it in your mind.
I have never tried drugs so i dont know how they compare to any of these
im sure somebody could answer that question.
