How to get A*/A in English Lit

 1) read more, if you can 2) go to lessons 3) find resources online for the books you are studying and collect the best points from these 4) create a list of the best points you have on each book and collect into paragraphs you could write if the right question came up 5) practice essays - which hopefully your teacher marks, and work on improving exam technique 6)condense aforementioned paragraphs down to key words for each paragraph  7)remember all the words before exam and make sure for each word you can basically recite the paragraph 8) when you get into the exam write down the list of words 7) stay calm in the exam and most importantly take your time - this means making sure to take the time to plan  8) when planning answer the question and see if there is a chance to add in a paragraph which is pre prepared and therefore which you know is good - if you do manage to find a way to do this look back to the question frequently to make sure you are tailoring the paragraph...

The most advanced language analysis I think I will ever do...

Mirror: I am silver and exact. I have no preconceptions. Whatever I see I swallow immediately Just as it is, unmisted by love or dislike. I am not cruel, only truthful‚ The eye of a little god, four-cornered. Most of the time I meditate on the opposite wall. It is pink, with speckles. I have looked at it so long I think it is part of my heart. But it flickers. Faces and darkness separate us over and over. Now I am a lake. A woman bends over me, Searching my reaches for what she really is. Then she turns to those liars, the candles or the moon. I see her back, and reflect it faithfully. She rewards me with tears and an agitation of hands. I am important to her. She comes and goes. Each morning it is her face that replaces the darkness. In me she has drowned a young girl, and in me an old woman Rises toward her day after day, like a terrible fish. Write a close critical analysis of Mirror, discussing the ways Plath presents time and identity in this poem and the collection as a who...

What helps if I feel Overwhelmed, Anxious or Stressed

If you lack energy or feel like you're having a bad day or are anxious: TECHNIQUE 1 jump in a hot shower (which is easy) and make it hot enough that eventually you get too hot, at a normal warm temperature this happens for me after 15 mins or so, at this point - when you might normally get out - put the shower to its max cold setting (which usually means you need to put the shower of the lowest power possible as well (idk why but its true)) and then try and stay in the shower for at least a minute - this is easiest if you keep your head under the water whilst the shower goes cold. As then your body seems to adapt to the new temperature faster. If it is not somewhat of a shock to the system then I am not sure the shower is cold enough. This mimics the Scandinavian culture of going back and forth between hot tubs/ sauna and freezing lakes. I feel great for at least10 minutes after (clean, energetic and powerful feelings combine) That 10 minutes is normally enough to get me started on...

How to get an A in maths

IN CLASS. Ask questions in class about stuff you don't understand, the teacher may have made a mistake (this happens frequently (especially at a level) and even if they have not then if you do not understand the chances are very high that others don't understand either.   Also just by listening whilst the teacher is teaching, then doing some of the work in class you will notice huge improvements. No one is perfect and everyone will have days when they just chat in class, but also try and have ones where you knuckle down and work. HOW TO ACTUALLY SIT DOWN AND SPEND TIME DOING MATHS WORK Building a habit of doing maths for just 25 mins a day can change the game, for GCSEs with this much time allocated to maths I guarantee you will finish all your homework and improve your grades. The only reason for not doing this is that... Maths can be boring.  The reason:  to "get good" at an area we have to do a lot of practice questions - often set as homework. Frequently these do...

I Read the Highest Rated Book of All Time

The highest rated book of all time with an average of 4.7 stars on goodreads is brandon sandersons words of raidence   The second book in his epic fantasy series, the stormlight archieve   The book continues the oddly intertwined adventures of the protagonists to whom we were introduced in the way of kings.   Shallan is bright, with a past hidden and confusing. A past that, even at the end of this book, I am still struggling to fully comprehend. She is a far more interesting character in this book than the first , and that is an understatement in my opinion, she really steps up.   Of course sanderson , as so mnay authors do nowadays, jumps between perspectives   This maintains the tension, however, as a sometimes impatient reader, I found myself clamoring to get past the interludes and less interesting sections, of course we are rewarded for our patience with climaxes that no other author I have come across would be able to pull of in suc...
