Biologically dissatisfied but punching fear in the face helps subdue these feelings | daily leanings #5

We are meant to live in a state of permanent dissatisfaction Biologically we are made this way It is the most optimal from an evolutionary standpoint to always be after more I have to remind myself of this sometimes Because we don't have to listen  Do something that scares you everyday - a piece of advice i attempt to listen too as much as possible something i learnt recently: Skim reading a book called brain matter i learnt that living longer means consuming less calories and having fermented foods that protect your microbiome in your stomach (along with a lot of other things obviously - these are just two the book suggests) If you couldn't tell from reading that I dont really understand it But anyways i will be trying to not bulk to the extent some bodybuilders do and i will be trying to have more fermented products. whilst also trying to follow andrew hubermans advice (hot and cold exposure frequently, fast 12hrs a day, 3hrs of low intensity exercise a week, resistance train...

Attention is Now a Valuable Asset, is this Why We Are Now so Precious with our Own? | Daily Ramblings #4

Lets start with books Books are very important they contain stories stories are pivotal to our lives they are around us everywhere each of us tells ourselves a different story everyday Books, bestselling books are the height of stories at least in long form Or that is what they once were nowadays it is more how you present the book, than the contents of the book, which matter by present i mean how it is written recently i read the millenium trilogy: which most people will know as the trilogy including The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo They have new information, a new plot point or twist so frequently it is hard not to stay engaged. a good story nowadays needs to be presented in this fast paced format, (think tiktok)  even if it is a book, the writing style needs to be incredibly fast paced the hook needs to be exceptional I dont know whether this is a bad thing or not but it does mean that our society is shifting more and more to simply not being able to consume anything in long form...

Desire | Daily #3

It is nearly Christmas It is kind of a time for consideration I've been wondering about me Getting caught up in thought loops about itI have this deep deep desire to do really well at something Be the best sailor Be the only adventure racer Be the Richest or the Most famous and I don't exactly know why I think I want this because I want to be respected and be able to get all the 'friends' I want and speak to whomever I want To be honest I think those reasons are valid. I understand the statements about don't try being famous or rich. Or it is not worth it. But to be honest I don't believe that. I certainly believe becoming financially independent is very important. From then onwards I want to do whatever I want. Create, invest, change. That kind of nonsense. Just at the moment I worry I don't have the desire to really do it. And that is pretty scary. But there is a lot of time. I really shouldn't worry that much. Realistically we should all do whatever w...

study skill not luck | Daily #2

i think it is notable that a lot of the books i have studied for english are the authors first novels this seems to be a recurring theme right now we're doing frankenstein i have a theory that this is because they are very easy to analyse in most first time novels the writers draw heavily from their life which makes analysing contexts and inferences a whole lot easier however im not sure how sensible this is it is all well and good to be able to understand what makes a good novel but if what makes a good novel, as in the case of frankenstein and the bell jar, is the authors life not entirely their story telling,  then why study it? is the purpose of english not to make students be able to write well? Not all students have lived such a well read or fascinating life shouldn't these students be studying books that are purely written well so they can learn how to write well otherwise is the subject not practically biographical history I like to learn from people who have repeata...

A future Billion Dollar Crypto, the Next Harry Potter and The Value of everyday | Daily Email #1

In the first coronavirus lockdown I got into the habit of doing things everyday. Posting things, everyday. Doing this was very valuable. To get to the point where anything you or I make is valuable enough for people to want to read it is hard. It takes a lot of practice.  Simply, I don't think I get enough practice without committing to everyday. So here we are. Hopefully I learn a lot. And hopefully anyone who reads this will learn something too. ============================================== CURIOUS (DESO) Recently I have been reading about DeSo. It is a blockchain project and crypto currency designed to be used with social networks. Unlike Bitcoin or Eth which are designed more to make Decentralised finance a reality. The idea of decentralised social media is intriguing to me. And clearly to investment firms - many of which invested many many millions into DeSo.  The "problem" with social media nowadays is that there are massive corporations making billions of pounds....
